ABOUT KRAGUJEVAC

It is the administrative centre of Sumadija District, located on the banks of the Lepenica River and surrounded by the mountains Rudnik, Crni Vrh, and Gledic. According to the 2011 official results, the city has a population of 179,417 citizens. Kragujevac is the fourth largest city in Serbia after Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Nis, the main city of the Sumadija region, the administrative centre of the Sumadija region, and the administrative centre of Sumadija District.

The University of Kragujevac comprises 12 faculties, six of them located in Kragujevac and the other six in the following cities of the Central and Western Serbia regions:

Vrnjacka Banja University of Kragujevac, with its 11 faculties, is a modern education and research centre embracing almost all major areas of teaching and research. Six of its faculties are located in Kragujevac, the centre of Sumadija Region, while the other five faculties are located in the four towns of Central Serbia: Kralijevo, Cacak, Jagodina, and Uzice, thus covering the area with more than 2500000 inhabitants. Since 1977, when the first medical courses were established in Kragujevac, the faculty of medicine has grown into one of the most reputable medical teaching centres in Serbia.The faculty also provides opportunities for graduate work towards specialists and sub specialist qualifications, as well as towards masters and PhD degrees. With the vision that medical training is a lifelong commitment, the faculty also supports continuing education programs and other activities for doctors and medical care professionals.

ACCOMMODATION

Demand for housing in dormitories regularly exceeds the available capacities, and admission to student dormitories is not administered by the University of Kragujevac. Considering the above, all international students are using private accommodation during their exchange period at the University of Kragujevac.

 Private accommodation is available at very reasonable prices. The average price for a single-room apartment is between 150 and 200 EUR per month (depending on the location and amenities), excluding monthly utilities.  The International Relations Office can provide assistance in finding accommodation. Additionally, all international students will have support from the Buddy network. Students who are not sure about signing a contract with a private owner can always reach the International Relations Office of the University of Kragujevac. They will directly contact the owner of the apartment in order to check if it is valid.
